Rates depend on the type of aircraft and distance. I have a day job flying for a major airline, and my rates reflect time away from that job and my family.
I did plenty of thrilling flying in the military. I have access to fun flying on my own time. In my opinion, professional aviation done well should be as boring as possible. I may be excited to fly your aircraft, but my goal is for my time with your airplane to fit that definition. I want it to be boring so that you’ll be able to enjoy flying it yourself as soon as I arrive.
