There is so much more to flying than just steep turns, stalls, and soft field takeoffs. Let’s build a specialized flight training program to teach you something new, useful, and fun.

N5792C.jpgI taught solo and formation aerobatics as a T-6A Instructor Pilot for the US Air Force. Whether you want to learn the basics of safely flying near another aircraft, or you and a friend want to learn how to manage energy and pursuit curves to chase each other around the sky, I can help you learn to do it in a safe and disciplined manner.

IMG_0600I also enjoy backcountry flying. I’ve operated a 1950 C-170A from grass and dirt strips for over a decade. I was also qualified to land the Pilatus PC-12 on dirt strips as well as blacked-out assault landing zones as a pilot for US Air Force Special Operations Command. I’ve flown more than 1,000 hours with Night Vision Goggles and can help your flight department learn to use these awesome tools to enhance your operations. NVGs are not magic, but they add a lot of capability when used properly.

I have a specific course for new owners of Experimental Aircraft, but I’m happy to help you take a disciplined approach to flying a normal category (factory-produced) aircraft as well. We’ll dive deep into your airplane’s systems and procedures, study past accidents and how to avoid them, and then take your aircraft through all flight regimes until you’re comfortable that you can handle any situation you encounter.

I also teach in the Icon A5. I can conduct your TX-L or TX-S course, help you build hours for insurance requirements, or design a custom course for exploring the world in your A5.
